Nor'Da
Capital and namesake of the Hold. The city as its known today was created due to a complex situation that arose. After the thwarted invasion of Mehrunes Dagon, a large number of Deadra remained stranded in Tamriel.
Most where hunted down by a group created for the task, the 'Vigil of Stendarr'. However somewhere between the mountain of Cyrodiil & Skyrim, a small Nord village cut off from most of society faced a uncertainty.
The oblivion gate over their town had been open only a few seconds before the invasion was halted & only a handful of the Daerda made it through. Both sides knew neither would service the conflict, so the Daedra (their belief in Dagon as the most powerful being, now shattered) held up at the top of the mountain.
After a while they made an alliance, then peace, built a City & eventually founded Hold.

Shortly after the oblivion crisis the realm of the shivering isle fell in to war, it was quelled with help. But after Sheogorath was never seamed to be the same, becoming more interested in the affairs of Tamriel than ever before. Without Sheogoraths full presence or focus too keep the balance of his realm, the forests of Dementia overgrew and the Dark Seducers army grew. The Saints had to flee to Tamriel, renouncing Sheogorath and going by 'The Free Aureals' rather than The Golden Saints. After years of running and battles what remained of those that fled found sanctuary in the mountain valley of Nor'Da, a place now hidden from even gods. (more on that in the mod)
